Drupal Development

Drupal development is building websites and web platforms on Drupal, the open-source enterprise CMS used by governments, universities and large institutions for sites with many editors, many languages and strict permission levels.

You have thousands of pages, six departments each wanting to publish, three languages, and a rule that nothing goes live without approval. Your current site cannot express any of that, so it is being held together by email and goodwill.

Drupal is where we go when a site has real institutional structure behind it. We build content models that match how your organisation actually works — content types, taxonomies, workflows — with granular permissions so each department publishes its own material without touching anyone else's, and editorial workflows that route drafts for approval before anything goes public. Multilingual publishing is native to Drupal rather than a plugin, which is why it handles Arabic, English and Turkish side by side properly. We do new builds, we migrate legacy sites into Drupal, and we take over neglected Drupal installations — including version upgrades and security patching.

What you get

  • A content model built around your structure: content types, taxonomies, relationships
  • Granular roles and permissions, per department and per content type
  • Editorial workflow — draft, review, approve, publish — with a full revision history
  • Native multilingual publishing with translation workflow, including Arabic RTL
  • Migration of existing content from your current site or an older Drupal version
  • Drupal version upgrades and ongoing security patching
  • Custom modules where a contributed one does not exist — written to Drupal standards
  • Integration with SSO, directories, payment or internal systems

Who this is for

Government bodies, universities, hospitals, NGOs, and large companies — anywhere multiple departments publish to one site under approval rules, or a legacy Drupal install needs rescuing.

Questions about this service

Should we use Drupal or WordPress?

WordPress is the better answer for a straightforward site with a handful of editors. Drupal is the better answer when you have many editors across departments, several languages, content that must be approved before publishing, or strict security and access requirements. Choosing Drupal for a simple brochure site is overkill, and we will say so.

Can you upgrade or rescue an old Drupal site?

Yes — that is a large part of Drupal work. We take on unsupported versions, apply overdue security patches, upgrade to the current major version, and migrate content where an in-place upgrade is not viable. We start with an audit that tells you honestly whether upgrading or rebuilding costs less.

Is Drupal free?

The software is free and open source, with no licence fee ever. What you pay for is design, development, migration, hosting and maintenance. Nobody can raise your licence price or lock your content in, which is a large part of why institutions choose it.

Does Drupal handle Arabic properly?

Yes. Multilingual support is built into Drupal core rather than added by a plugin, including right-to-left languages. Arabic, Turkish and English can run side by side with per-language content, per-language URLs, and a translation workflow for editors.
